More than 10,000 workers, engineers and technical specialists are being mobilized for the Ben Thanh‑Can Gio high‑speed railway, according to project officials. The investor also said industrialized construction methods will be extensively applied to keep the demanding schedule. The schedule requires land clearance by the fourth quarter of 2026, as stated by local authorities. Construction is scheduled to finish in the fourth quarter of 2028, and commercial service is expected in 2029. The line will be about 54 kilometres long and designed for speeds up to 350 km/h, which will reduce travel time between central Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio to around 13 minutes. Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vice Chairman Hoang Nguyen Dinh described the railway as a strategic infrastructure project that will expand the city’s development space and create new growth drivers for 2026‑2030. He stressed that the railway could become a major driver of the city’s future economy.
