Dr. Do Thi Thanh Huyen has led the Hanoi Biology gifted student team for eleven years. During that time she prepared eleven students for the International Biology Olympiad, and every one of them returned home with a medal.

Huyen does not use a one‑size‑fits‑all method. She studies each pupil’s strengths, then designs a self‑directed study plan that stresses critical thinking and helps students turn exam pressure into motivation.

When student Vu Thi Chinh faced severe family financial hardship in 2015, Huyen used her own money and gathered help from others so Chinh could keep training. The support paid off when Chinh won an IBO gold medal in 2016.

The results speak for themselves: the eleven IBO entries under Huyen’s guidance won three gold, four silver and four bronze medals. She sees herself not only as a teacher but also as a coordinator and mentor who creates the right environment for each learner.
