October 2026 marked a turning point for Vietnam’s car market, as electric and hybrid models flooded the showrooms. The variety ranges from low‑cost city cars to ultra‑luxury sedans, making the month worth a closer look.

According to the launch data, electric and hybrid vehicles accounted for the majority of new arrivals in October 2026, underscoring the growing importance of electrification in automakers' product strategies. This dominance signals that manufacturers are prioritising greener powertrains over traditional gasoline models.

The new models spanned the entire price spectrum, from compact electric cars priced below VND300 million (US$11,500) to luxury electric and hybrid sedans costing up to VND8.639 billion (US$332,300). Such breadth demonstrates that electrified mobility is no longer limited to a single market segment.

Lexus Vietnam unveiled the first fully electric ES 500e together with two hybrid variants, with prices ranging between VND2.34 billion and VND2.94 billion. The move places Lexus among the premium brands offering both plug‑in and self‑charging options.

Wuling introduced four affordable electric vehicles, expanding its EV lineup. The Macaron starts at VND279 million, while the seven‑seat Darion is offered up to VND839 million, providing budget‑friendly choices for families.

Other manufacturers also broadened their electrified portfolios: Hyundai launched a hybrid Palisade, MG added the ZS Hybrid+, BYD presented the Sealion 5 plug‑in hybrid, Mercedes‑Benz rolled out several hybrid and electric models, and Suzuki refreshed the XL7 with a lower‑priced hybrid variant. These introductions across different segments illustrate a market‑wide push toward electrified powertrains.

In short, electric and hybrid cars now dominate Vietnam’s October 2026 launches, giving consumers options that fit almost any budget or lifestyle. The trend suggests that the country’s automotive future will be increasingly electric.
