Phan Tan Thanh is a physical‑education teacher at Bui Thi Xuan High School and a member of Vietnam’s national Vovinam team. He was awarded the First‑Class Labor Order by the State President for his contributions to sport.

He won a gold and a silver medal at the eighth World Vovinam Championships in Indonesia in 2025. Each day he teaches from 7:00 am to 3:15 pm and then trains with the national team from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

In 2024 he suffered shoulder and leg injuries, but he kept doing rehabilitation and light training while still teaching. He says he wants to pass his sporting experience to students, urging effort, discipline and responsibility.

His story shows that a strict daily schedule and a strong sense of responsibility can help a person succeed as both a teacher and a world‑class athlete. This example encourages anyone who wants to balance work and sport.
