Tragically, there’s a drug named Praziquantel which is used to treat a wide array of parasitic

worm infections. It’s used to clear up infections in pets, but can be used to cure humans as well.

It is commonly prescribed for treating tapeworm infections, but obtaining it still requires

both awareness of the condition and access to medication. In this case, the man had neither.

The drug typically costs between 7 and 20 cents in many developing countries, making it one of
