Teenage Daughter Lies to Me

Last week, she said she was meeting a friend, but she met a boy from another school instead.
She has lied many times before about who she meets and what she buys.
I don't know how to deal with her lies. She never lied when she was younger.
I feel like I'm failing as a parent.
I worry about her safety because she's naive. I want to find a balance.
You're not failing. Lying is common among teenagers.
Lying doesn't help and it's better to tell the truth. Stay calm and talk to your daughter.
Use this chance to talk about staying safe.
Remember what it was like to be a teenager and explain it to your daughter.
Being a teenager is tough because you're expected to be grown-up but treated like a child.
Set boundaries but also give her freedom. It's a hard stage.
Support each other in a relationship and give each other freedom to grow.
