The woman is also accused of using Telegram to help the girl provide sex services and keeping the money she earned.

The court did not release the names of the woman and the girl due to a gag order. They lived in the same shelter.

Eight men were also charged with paying the 16-year-old girl for sex, with payments ranging from S$30 to S$150.

This happened in February 2024 in various places like a handicapped toilet, stairs, and parked cars.

The eight men, all from Singapore, are aged between 23 and 41 years old.

The woman also worked with someone else to cheat three people on Telegram into paying for sex services that were not provided.

The police arrested all nine people after investigating the sexual exploitation of two minors under 18.

The woman allegedly exploited the two victims by helping them provide paid sex and profiting from it.

The police found out who the eight men were through further investigations.

If the men are found guilty, they can be jailed for up to seven years and fined.

The woman can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined up to S$100,000 for recruiting someone for exploitation.

If she were a man, she could also face up to six strokes of the cane.

For getting money from the trafficking, she faces the same penalties.

If found guilty of living off the earnings of sex work, she can be jailed for up to seven years, fined up to S$100,000, or both.
