The Singapore Civil Defence Force got a call for help at 9:50 am on Monday. They went to the site on Jurong Port Road to assist.

The Ministry of Manpower said the worker was hit by a structure that fell from the fifth floor of a building under construction. The structure was being moved at the time.

A person was trapped in a truck after scaffolding fell on it, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Rescuers and construction workers removed the scaffolding from the truck and freed the person using special equipment.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

Jurong Port said the person who died was a worker and the accident happened at its construction hub.

The main contractor for the site is HPC Builders.

Jurong Port is very sad about the accident and is helping the worker's family. They are working with the contractors to provide support.

Jurong Port is still investigating what caused the scaffolding to collapse.

Jurong Port takes safety very seriously and is working with the authorities to find out what happened.

The Ministry of Manpower is investigating the accident and has told HPC Builders to stop some construction activities. The worker was employed by Keehans.
