Tennessee Titans Change Their Mascot, People React on Social Media

The Tennessee Titans are changing. They have a new stadium and new uniforms. They used to be called the Houston Oilers.
The team's mascot, T-Rac, is also getting a new look. T-Rac is a raccoon.
People on social media have opinions about the new T-Rac.
Another team, the Buffalo Bills, has new uniforms that people don't like.
The Titans showed off the new T-Rac at a good time. Raccoons are popular now.
A raccoon named Jimothy is famous on the internet. He even had a theme night at a baseball game.

People like raccoons now. They are interesting animals.

Some fans like the new T-Rac, but not everyone does. The new T-Rac looks more real.
I can see why people have different opinions about the new T-Rac.
It might seem silly to get upset about a mascot change.
But some changes can be upsetting. Like when a different team changed their mascot's look.
That change happened a long time ago.

People often don't like new mascots at first. Like when the Philadelphia Flyers got a new mascot named Gritty.
Gritty was not liked at first, but then people loved him. He did some funny things.
I think people will like the new T-Rac eventually. Unless the team does poorly this season.

If the team does poorly, the new T-Rac might be blamed. But that's not fair.
