Crocodile Feeding Demo Turns Deadly: A Lesson in Safety

A worker at Adventure Park in Port Moresby was attacked by a crocodile during a feeding demonstration.

According to eyewitness Gibson John, the man was feeding the crocodile with chicken when the animal grabbed his legs. John said the crocodile kept the man's legs in its mouth for more than an hour before help arrived, and that the man had lost a leg and was in severe pain.

The injured worker was taken to 3 Mile General Hospital, but he died the next morning at 7 am.

After the incident, Adventure Park was closed until further notice while staff prepared for the worker’s funeral.

The accident shows that close interaction with crocodiles is extremely risky and that strict safety protocols are essential during feeding demonstrations.
