Dai Giac Pagoda in Quang Tri province is more than a beautiful building; it holds a nine‑story tower with a jade Buddha from Myanmar and the relics of Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang. Its story shows how rebuilding sacred sites can protect tradition and help a community recover.

In 2013 a devastating typhoon swept the area, leaving only a standing Buddha statue amid the ruins. Monks and followers mobilised, and by 2016 a spacious new main worship hall had been completed, restoring the centre for worship.

According to Venerable Thich Phuong Ho, monks have restored more than 100 of over 500 historic pagodas in Nghe An, while in the former Quang Binh province only slightly more than 10 of over 200 documented sites have been restored so far.
