The team will play the second part of the 2026 SEA V Cup with a new coach after losing to Thailand in the first part.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoa will be the coach for the tournament in Thailand from August 7-9.

Nguyen Tuan Kiet is still with the team for the Asian Games.

Nguyen Tuan Kiet did not quit, he will stay in Vietnam to prepare a different group of players for the Asian Games.

The change in coaches happened after the team decided to make two women's teams for the SEA V Cup and the VTV Cup.

This is the first time in years that Nguyen Tuan Kiet will not lead the women's team in an international event.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoa will have help from assistant coaches Vu Thi Hoa, Ta Duc Hieu, and Karl Lim.

The team lost badly to Thailand, showing old weaknesses.

The coaching change came after Vietnam lost 0-3 to Thailand in the first leg of the SEA V Cup.

Thailand won the first leg with easy victories, and Vietnam finished second after beating the Philippines and Indonesia.

Many people thought Vietnam would challenge for the championship, especially after beating Thailand last year.

Vietnam had trouble with serving and blocking, and Thailand's defense was strong.

The loss was more disappointing because Indonesia took one set from Thailand, and the Philippines took it to five sets.

The team's captain, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, and her teammates seemed to struggle mentally.

The team has changed its players before going to Thailand.

Middle blockers Le Thuy Linh and Ly Thi Luyen have joined the team.

Outside hitters Vi Quynh, Nguyen Uyen, and Tra My are resting, and Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Doan Thi Xuan, and Dinh Thuy have joined.

Setter Dinh Thi Van is replacing Yen Nhi.

Here is the list of players for the second leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup.

Outside hitters are Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Pham Quynh Huong, Bui Thi Anh Thao, and Dinh Thi Thuy.

Middle blockers are Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Luu Thi Hue, Ly Thi Luyen, and Le Thuy Linh.

Opposites are Dang Thi Kim Thanh and Doan Thi Xuan.

Setters are Vo Thi Kim Thoa and Dinh Thi Van.

Liberos are Nguyen Khanh Dang and Le Thi Yen.

The head coach is Nguyen Ngoc Hoa.

It will be hard for Vietnam in Thailand.

Vietnam only has four days to get ready before the second leg starts in Thailand.

Thailand will make its team stronger by bringing back senior players and will have the advantage of playing at home.

Young outside hitter Pham Quynh Huong will help with attacking, but the team's biggest problem is still receiving the first ball.

The loss has started a discussion about the future of Vietnam's women's national team.

For now, Vietnam's challenge is to do better against Thailand in the second leg.
