Southeast Asia's Fourth-Richest Country Earns $26 Billion from Tourism

Despite fewer visitors, international tourism earned around $25.8 billion for the country. This country is the fourth-richest in Southeast Asia. It is behind Singapore, Brunei, and Malaysia.

The Minister of Tourism said China had the most visitors with 2.86 million. Malaysia had 2.25 million, India had 1.31 million, Russia had 1.06 million, and South Korea had 631,777 visitors.

Tourism got stronger from July 12-18. Thailand had 585,189 foreign visitors, which is 4.04% more than the previous week. There were 83,598 visitors per day on average.

Summer school holidays and more flights helped this trend. There were more flights from Shenzhen to Phuket, with four flights per week.

Other factors helped too. Flydubai started a new route from Dubai to Bangkok. Thai Airways started a new route from Amsterdam to Suvarnabhumi. These new routes help long-haul travelers.
