2:05that looked like it was hand-cranked at the time.

2:06Um, and I bought the very first ticket.

3:16I have a beautiful 16.5 year old boy

3:18who's all things basketball and fashion

3:20and, you know, and a daughter who's a government hacker.

3:22She's just --

3:24She's what this movie was about.

3:26And I think that was sort of a forewarning

3:27of what I was going to be living through.

3:29-Yeah, and they --

3:31do they have cameos in "Practical Magic 2"?

3:33-Well, they are in voice and in spirit.

3:36And their voice is because I recorded,

3:37like, as most parents nowadays,

3:39you can record anything that they do.

3:41So, every laugh, every song, you know,

3:43it's like thousands of hours, and so I just...

3:45-So, they're in the movie? -Their voices are.

3:47-No way. -Yeah.

3:48-How did you think to put them in?

3:49-Well, there was a scene where --

3:51there is a scene where my character,

3:53who's cut herself off because she could sense people before

3:56and sense her children, but she has since made a spell

4:00so her children don't remember their magic

4:02because she feels like it brings too much tragedy.

4:03So, she's blocked as well.

4:05So, she just wants normalcy, wants a normal life.

4:07And she goes to this professor who's known for his spiritual,

4:11magical powers, and he unblocks people.

4:14So, he unblocks me --

4:15Sally, not me --

4:17and the first thing that we hear, and they were like,

4:20"Well, what should it be? Should it be the ancestors?

4:22And I was like, "No.

4:23First thing I hear always are my babies.

4:26You always hear the babies."

4:27So I was like, let's chronologically play my kids

4:30as much as we can throughout, you know,

4:32up to a certain age as we have time for in the film.

4:34So, that's where they are.

4:36-That's so cute, I love that. I love that you thought of that.

4:38[ Applause ]

4:40Do they, um...

4:42Do they keep you up to date on the new lingo

4:44and how everyone talks now? -Oh, yeah. Yeah.

4:46But by the time I work it into my vernacular,

4:49like I make it smooth, like it just rolls off the tongue,

4:55-Uh, I mean, I'm not on "6-7." I'm not --

5:33-"Leng" means that someone's like, good-looking.

5:37-Oh, "leng"? -"He's leng."

5:39-Not "lain," but "leng"? Like Jessica Lange?

6:08How do we set up what's going on in this one?

6:11-In this one, based on Alice Hoffman's book,

6:13who wrote the first one, um...

6:15"The Book of Magic,"

6:16now it's 20-some years later,

6:18and the person that I fell in love with

6:21in the very end of the last film

6:23succumbed to the curse.

6:25And that was not a good thing.

6:27And so therefore, I shut everything down.

6:29I erased my children's memory of their magic

6:31so we could live normal lives.

6:33And that's where we pick up where my beautiful daughters,

6:36played by Joey King and Maisie Williams,

6:38are sort of on -- who are unbelievable.

6:41-Yeah, we love them. [ Cheers and applause ]

6:43-They are not chuds.

6:45-No, not at all. -They are leng for days.

6:47[ Light laughter ]

6:49I used it. I know it's wrong. -Thank you. No, it's good.

6:51"Leng" is totally happening right now.

6:52-Tomorrow we're going to hear how wrong we were.

6:55It's unbelievable. It's so good.

6:56But isn't it great, though,

6:58having the feedback of these fans,

7:00hearing that they want to see "Practical Magic 2"?

7:01-Yeah.

7:02-I mean, when you made the first one,

7:04you were like, this is --

7:05-Well, when we made the first one, we were like [Gasps]

7:08and it was heartbreaking for us when it first happened,

7:11but we knew why we made it.

7:12There was such a love for the first book, right?

7:14And there's a specific fan base.

7:16And they came eventually through, like, streaming

7:18and things like that.

7:19Everyone found their way back to it.

7:21-You're like, "People like this movie."

7:22-Yeah.

7:23And you never get asked to make something, like,

7:24"Will you please make the second one?"

7:26And we were like, well, I guess we have to.

7:27-And you knew now was the time.

7:28You go, "This just felt right"?

7:30-Everything just came together at a certain point,

7:31like everyone's lives, all of us sort of were able to do it.

7:34Kids were out of school for the summer.

7:36I said, "I can do it for these three months

7:38and take the kids out," you know?

7:39And then we just did it.

7:41-And then everyone got back together.

7:42-Yeah.

7:43-Nicole, Dianne Wiest, Stockard Channing.

7:44Come on. -They are --

7:45[ Cheers and applause ]

7:47-That's not -- No, I don't know why I did that.

8:25I mean, I feel like a good, you know,
