Warren Buffett Stops Donating to Gates Charity
This decision ends a famous charity partnership. Buffett and Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder, were friends. They started the Giving Pledge in 2010 to ask rich people to donate. Buffett said in 2024 he would stop giving after he dies. He recently grew distant from Gates due to Gates's past contact with Jeffrey Epstein. Gates is not accused of a crime and regrets the connection.
Buffett's remaining shares are worth over $140 billion. This money will go to his family's charities. Most of this year's gift goes to his daughter Susie's foundation. Buffett will give away all his shares by 2034. The Gates Foundation thanked Buffett for his support. It will continue its work until 2045.
