Gordie Howe Bridge Now Open to Walkers and Cyclists
On Wednesday, people can walk or bike on the Gordie Howe Bridge for the first time. The path is free and opens at 8 a.m.
The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority asks people to be patient.
Many people will use the path, so there will be lines to get in and at the border.
The bridge authority will limit the number of people on the path at first.
It will take about 45 minutes to walk the path from one border stop to the other.
It will take about 20 minutes to bike the path.
There is a speed limit of 20 km/h on the path.
Remember to bring your travel papers, even if you're not crossing into the US.
If you return to Canada, you must report to the border agency before leaving.
There's no parking at the bridge, so park at Malden Park or Clark Park instead.
