A big earthquake hit Indonesia's Flores island, killing 53 people and hurting over 130. Another quake hit Sumatra, but no one was hurt.

The Flores island earthquake was Indonesia's deadliest since 2022, when a quake killed hundreds in West Java.

The government declared an emergency in East Nusa Tenggara. About 5,000 people were moved to safety, and nearly 1,000 aftershocks were recorded.

Power is mostly back on, but workers are still fixing power lines, according to the state utility company.
