Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: What We Know So Far

Samsung will announce new foldable phones on July 22 in London. We haven't seen the new Z Fold 7 successor officially, but there are many online reports about it.

Here's what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra so far.

Samsung will show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in London on July 22. It will likely be available soon after. The price of the Z Fold 7 was $1,999 last year.

There are no reports on the new Z Fold's price yet. But with current tech trends, it might be more expensive than last year's model. We might see another $100 price increase.

Things get confusing with the Z Fold series now.

Many reports say the new phone will be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. There might be another foldable phone announced at the same time.

There have been many leaks about a new 'Wide Fold' phone, alongside the Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8. Leaker Sonny Dickson posted photos of these new phones.

The Z Fold 7 had a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner screen. The Z Fold 8 will likely have similar sizes. The 'Wide Fold' phone will have a smaller 5.4-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner screen.

Samsung is making the 'Wide Fold' to compete with Apple's upcoming iPhone Fold, which will have a wider design than current foldables.

Expect a competition between the Z Fold 8 Wide and iPhone Fold Ultra later this year.

The Z Fold 7 was impressive because it was very thin and light. The Z Fold 8 Ultra might be even lighter, at 200g.

We don't know much about what's inside the Z Fold 8 Ultra yet. But there are some reports to consider.

One report says the battery might increase from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh. This would be a big improvement, as the Z Fold 7's battery life was a letdown.

The new battery might also charge faster, at 45W. We don't know what to expect from the Z Fold 8 Ultra's performance, but the Z Fold 7 was a nice phone to use.

There's a report that Samsung will improve the rear camera on the Z Fold 8 Ultra. The Z Fold 7 had a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens.

If the report is true, the new phone will keep the 200MP lens, but upgrade the ultrawide lens to 50MP and the telephoto lens to 12MP. This should result in sharper images.

The Z Fold 8 Ultra will be revealed in a couple of weeks. For now, we have a basic idea of what to expect, despite the confusing name.
