In July, Maryland‑based Younique Ventures, owned by Kendra and Kelvin Brown, launched the “Goddess Refresh Experience,” a group tour that took travelers to several French sites.
By late September the participants complained that the trip stopped abruptly, leaving them to choose between flying back to the United States or continuing their holiday in France on their own.
Younique Ventures explained on Facebook that an airline switched the aircraft type at the last minute, which left not enough seats for the whole group, so the company ended the program early.
With the accommodation and scheduled activities for the final four days cancelled, the tourists had to spend their own money on alternative plans; some purchased flights home, while others remained in France and arranged their own return later.
The company promised to refund the cost of the cancelled portion of the program and to reimburse reasonable incidental expenses within 60 days, but many travelers said they still had not received any money by Sept. 30.
Younique Ventures said the refund delays were caused by a large number of customers asking their banks to reverse payments, which strained the company’s cash flow and made it impossible to meet the 60‑day deadline.
The episode shows why travelers should read a tour operator’s cancellation and refund policies carefully, keep copies of payment confirmations, and have a backup plan in case an airline or tour provider changes unexpectedly.
