The World Economic Forum’s latest safety and security ranking placed Vietnam ninth, giving it a score of 6.52 out of a possible 7. The list measures how much risk residents, tourists and businesses face.

Singapore led the same ranking with 6.87 points, followed by Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the WEF’s assessment highlights Vietnam’s stable, safe and secure socio‑political environment, especially notable while many parts of the world experience volatility and instability.

Industry insiders say Vietnam’s reputation as a safe destination has helped attract tourists, even as global uncertainty rises because of the conflict in the Middle East.

Mexico, Mali and Colombia were listed as the most dangerous countries for tourists in the same report.
