Pham Thu Huong, Vingroup’s vice‑chairwoman, has just entered Fortune’s 2026 “Most Powerful Women Asia” list at rank 37, becoming one of only two Vietnamese newcomers.
The list, which surveys women leaders across 14 Asian markets, also includes veteran CEOs like Mai Kieu Lien of Vinamilk and Nguyen Thi Hoa of Viettel Global, showing the depth of female leadership in the region.
Huong’s rise is tied to her hands‑on work building Vingroup alongside her husband, and to her chairmanship of GSM, the company that runs the Green SM electric ride‑hailing service.
With a personal net worth of US $4.1 billion, she ranks among Vietnam’s richest people; her husband’s fortune is estimated at US $35.7 billion, making him the wealthiest individual in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Fortune said the ranking considers the scale and performance of an executive’s organisation, career trajectory, influence, innovation and broader societal impact – all areas where Huong scores highly.
Vietnam now ties Malaysia with five honorees, the third‑largest group in Southeast Asia, while Singapore leads the region with twelve women on the list.
