Lucy announced this week that doctors have found breast cancer and that she will have a double mastectomy, a surgery that removes both breasts.

After sharing the news on social media, Lucy was welcomed into the online community called the After Cancer Diagnosis Club, a support group for people coping with a new cancer diagnosis.

She praised her surgeon, Dr Fun, describing him as a skilled professional who will carefully remove the cancer‑affected tissue. Lucy said she feels she can rely on him more than anyone else in this process.

The treatment plan includes daily Tamoxifen hormone therapy, which helps prevent the cancer from returning, and a reconstruction surgery that will be performed after a second mastectomy.

Lucy also mentioned a strange sensation: a phantom itch where her breast tissue used to be, similar to the phantom pains some amputees feel, even though the skin no longer has feeling.

Throughout the surgery and recovery, Lucy says her children are her main source of strength, staying by her side and helping her manage the emotional ups and downs of treatment.
