The Thaiger reported that the teenager, known as Queue, planned a two‑day trip for Oct 2‑3 so his grandfather could travel abroad for the first time. The story shows how a low‑budget journey can be done in just two days.
State Railway of Thailand said a third‑class train ticket from Nakhon Pathom to Su‑ngai Kolok costs about 230 baht per person. Queue and his grandfather used this train before crossing the border into Malaysia.
Mothership reported that after entering Malaysia they took a bus to Pasir Mas, then a train to Johor Bahru, with tickets around 390 baht per person, and the final bus into Singapore cost 50 baht each. They stayed overnight in Johor Bahru. AsiaOne reported that the room cost 2,000 baht, with Queue’s older brother helping to pay.
Online booking platforms said that a one‑way flight from Thailand to Singapore costs $77‑99, and a round‑trip costs $162‑207. This shows how much cheaper the train‑bus route was.
