A‑CDM cuts taxi time, saves fuel and cuts emissions at Vietnam’s biggest airports
A-CDM giảm thời gian di chuyển trên mặt đất, tiết kiệm nhiên liệu và khí thải tại sân bay lớn nhất Việt Nam

Vietnam’s two biggest airports – Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai in Hanoi – have introduced an airport collaborative decision‑making system, known as A‑CDM. The change is important because it directly reduces the time aircraft spend taxiing on the ground.
According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, A‑CDM cut average taxiing time by 0.48 to 0.65 minutes per flight at Tan Son Nhat and by almost 1.5 minutes per flight at Noi Bai. Those small savings add up across thousands of daily movements.
The system works by letting airport operators, airlines, air‑traffic controllers and ground‑service providers share operational data and coordinate stands, taxiways and departure schedules. This joint planning lets everyone know exactly when a plane will need a gate or a runway.
Because aircraft spend less time waiting on the ground, they burn less fuel and emit fewer gases. The reduced fuel use has already saved airlines more than US$3.7 million, according to ACV.
In short, A‑CDM shows how better coordination at airports can lower airline costs and help the environment at the same time. The model could become a standard tool for airports that want to be both efficient and green.
