Ride‑hailing driver Tran Van Sang helped a Chinese tourist whose scooter broke down near the Martyrs’ Memorial Roundabout. The story is worth reading because it shows how a small act can create goodwill between cultures.
Tran Van Sang pushed the tourist’s scooter about a kilometre to a repair shop. When the tourist offered money as thanks, Sang smiled, waved his hand to decline and rode away. The tourist could only shout, “Oh my God, thank you!”
The whole scene was recorded on a body‑mounted camera and posted online on October 5. The video later received more than 1.1 million views. For the past two‑to‑three years, Sang has displayed a sign reading “Chuyen xe tinh thuong” (Kindness Ride) on his motorcycle, showing he is ready to help anyone in need.
Sang said he wants foreign visitors to feel Vietnamese people are enthusiastic and hospitable. This reminds us that everyday kindness can bridge cultural gaps and leave a positive impression of Vietnam.
