This story shows how family help and personal effort can let a student with a disability finish university. It is a real example that can inspire many readers.
Father Ngo Van Dung carried his daughter, Ngo Nguyen My Duyen, to school on a motorbike with a wheelchair strapped behind for over 20 years. He handled the daily transport while Duyen’s mother took care of her each day, so the girl could keep studying.
From the age of 18 months Duyen had mobility difficulties and weak hands that made writing slow. Still, she stayed proactive in class, finished all program requirements and did not ask for special favors. Dr. Le Thi Hang said Duyen was very proactive and contributed in lessons, and President Nguyen Kim Hong praised her perseverance and asked for more support for students with health or financial problems.
Duyen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nguyen Tat Thanh University, receiving her diploma on stage together with her father. Her success shows that caring parents and personal determination can overcome many obstacles.
