The Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City pledged to support Chinese language education in southern Vietnam. This support is important for young people who want to learn more about China and its culture.
The speech contest had 25 contestants from 19 universities and drew over 1,000 people. Each participant gave a Chinese presentation and a talent performance that showed Chinese language and culture.
Consul Mao Zhaoxia said learning Chinese creates opportunities for cultural exchange and strengthens economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The competition also gave scholarships worth VND766 million to 36 disadvantaged students, thanks to 75 businesses.
Promoting Chinese language education can help Vietnamese youth find cultural, academic and job opportunities. It also builds stronger ties between Vietnam and China, which benefits both nations.
