General Secretary and President To Lam, together with his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly and a senior Vietnamese delegation, landed at Copenhagen Airport on Monday to start a three‑day state visit. They were invited by King Frederik X and Queen Mary, and the trip could shape future jobs and study options for young Vietnamese.
Denmark first established diplomatic ties with Vietnam in 1971. The two countries later created a comprehensive partnership in 2013 and a green strategic partnership in 2023.
The visit aims to deepen political trust and set long‑term cooperation priorities. Leaders highlighted cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science‑technology, innovation and the green transition, all key areas for Vietnam’s next development stage.
Denmark is now one of the EU’s leading investors in Vietnam, with Danish firms active in seaports, maritime transport, logistics and green industries. Such collaboration could produce new products, solutions and drivers of economic growth, and it includes training for highly skilled workers, offering practical pathways for Vietnamese youth.
If the agreements are realised, Vietnamese young people could benefit from more tech‑focused jobs, green‑industry positions and specialised training programmes. The state visit therefore represents a concrete chance for the next generation to take part in Vietnam’s science‑technology and sustainable development drive.
