A Portuguese couple lost their wedding ring in the ocean near My Khe Beach in Da Nang, Vietnam. Their story became a reminder that kindness can travel far beyond its origin.
Volunteer Phan Thanh Trinh, 42, is known for helping tourists recover lost items. He told the couple his service would be completely free and used a metal detector to search for the ring.
After two days of searching, Trinh found the ring. He then flew more than 1,000 km to Phú Quốc, an island in southern Vietnam, to return the ring to the newlyweds. The couple paid for his return flights and they shared a lunch, learning about each other's cultures.
The couple posted a thank‑you on Facebook, saying Trinh’s generosity restored their faith in the goodness of people. Their reaction shows how a single selfless act can change belief in humanity across cultures.
