The Ben Thanh–Can Gio railway is a new rail line planned for Ho Chi Minh City. It will connect the city centre with the coastal area of Can Gio, helping people travel faster.

VinSpeed High‑Speed Rail Investment and Development JSC said it will start construction on 30 October 2024. The work will include the railway line, tunnels, elevated sections, Ben Thanh and Can Gio stations, a depot, and a control centre.

The line will be about 54 km long, have double tracks with the standard 1,435‑mm gauge, and be fully electrified. An underground part of about 3.3 km runs from Ben Thanh Station to km 3+173; the rest will be on viaducts. The project should finish by December 2029.

The construction will be done by a consortium. The consortium includes SGC Investment and Construction JSC as the lead member, Vinhomes JSC, and CONINCO will supervise the work.

The railway will be about 54 km long, fully electrified, and should be finished by December 2029. When it opens, it will give Ho Chi Minh City a modern, fast transport link to the coast.
