Authorities in Dong Nai City discovered 91 foreign nationals working without work permits at a company in Dong Xoai III Industrial Park. The case shows why Vietnamese businesses must follow work‑permit rules.

The immigration management division under the Dong Nai City Police carried out an unannounced inspection of the company. Inspectors concluded that the firm had not met its legal duties for inviting, sponsoring and managing the entry, exit and residence of foreign nationals.

Records show the 91 foreign employees had been on the payroll for more than 90 days without a work permit or any exemption certificate. The inspection team also noted that the company employed other foreign nationals who did not satisfy the legal requirements, and it prepared administrative violation reports for the firm and responsible individuals.

The same immigration division highlighted that similar breaches have been uncovered elsewhere. In Da Nang City, authorities discovered 26 Chinese nationals working without permits at a construction site in Tam Thang 2 Industrial Park. In Dong Nai City, a guesthouse inspection revealed two overstaying foreigners who tested positive for drugs, and the owner had failed to declare their temporary residence.

The immigration management division warned that ignoring work‑permit, residence and labor rules can bring serious legal penalties and disturb labor management and public security. Businesses are therefore urged to verify all foreign employees’ documents, obtain the required permits or exemptions, fulfil sponsorship duties and promptly inform authorities of any changes in employment or residence.
