From October to December, buckwheat flowers turn pink and white on the limestone peaks of the Dong Van Karst Plateau. The bright hills attract nature lovers and photographers, so travelers should know what to expect.
The 12th Buckwheat Flower Festival opened under the theme “Echoes of the Stone Highlands.” The event caused a surge of visitors and more than 1,000 accommodation rooms in Lo Lo Chai were filled within days.
Sung Manh Hung, a homestay owner in Dong Van, says visitor numbers rise on weekends, holidays and festivals. He advises tourists to book rooms and plan meals early. Thuat Nguyen, administrator of a travel‑review group, warns travelers to check booking details carefully because accommodation scams grow during the peak season.
Lo Lo Chai village was named one of the Best Tourism Villages of 2025 by UN Tourism, showing its popularity. Remember to book early and verify any reservation to enjoy the flower season safely.
