Apple rolled out iOS 27.2 on October 27, fixing more than 160 security vulnerabilities in iPhones. Users are urged to install the update quickly to protect their personal data.
The update addresses an Apple Intelligence flaw that could let remote attackers access sensitive data, and a Hide My Email issue that could expose users’ real email addresses. Both problems could reveal personal information if left unpatched.
It also patches over 30 WebKit vulnerabilities and about 15 kernel flaws. These components run the web browser and core system functions, so fixing them reduces the risk of hidden attacks.
Six CVE‑identified vulnerabilities were discovered by security firm Calif, which previously helped jailbreak the iPhone Duo. Calif’s researcher Stefan Esser said most of the flaws used for that jailbreak are now patched.
Apple warns that devices not updated could become targets because details of some flaws are already public. Installing iOS 27.2 therefore blocks known ways attackers might try to steal your data.
