More than 40 studies on digital transformation, green innovation and sustainable business practices were presented at SIBE 2026, hosted by British University Vietnam (BUV). The conference gathered researchers and business leaders to discuss how technology can support sustainable growth.
Le Duc Phat and Le Huyen Trang from Thang Long University found that fragmented data, outdated systems and a lack of skilled staff block AI use in Vietnam’s banks. They advise a phased rollout and clearer regulations.
Vu Chi Dzung, Director General of the Department of Legal and International Affairs at the State Securities Commission of Vietnam, highlighted mandatory ESG disclosure in Vietnam and ASEAN. He stressed that reporting standards, governance frameworks and reliable data are essential for corporate transparency.
Quynh Anh Nguyen and Nguyen Luu from BUV examined Vietnamese SMEs and identified limited access to finance, technology and information as the main obstacles to green innovation. Their research suggests that government support should be tailored to each firm’s needs.
Across the conference, researchers repeatedly noted that digital and green transformation needs more than new technologies. Success also depends on organisational capacity, reliable data, effective governance and access to resources.
