Phong Nha‑Ke Bang National Park has started a test of the Czech That Trail system. The new markings help hikers stay safe and find their way, even if they do not have a phone.
The system uses four colours—red, blue, green and yellow—each showing a specific type of trail. Red marks main routes, blue marks important connections, green marks shorter trails, and yellow marks shortcuts or secondary paths. Markings are painted on easy‑to‑see places like tree trunks and rocks, no more than 250 m apart, and coloured arrows point the direction at bends and junctions.
The pilot was done in the park’s botanical garden. Experts from the Czech Tourist Club and a supporting team marked two routes, one 5 km long and another 3 km long, covering a total of 77.1 ha. The park says the system lets visitors walk without smartphones, GPS or internet, and it aims to improve safety, make nature exploring better, and help conservation.
With the Czech trail marks, you can hike in Phong Nha‑Ke Bang confidently, even without any electronic help. The simple coloured signs also support the park’s effort to protect the environment.
