Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S27, may not improve its charging speed, staying at 25W, while the higher‑end Pro and Ultra models could receive a 60W upgrade. This contrast is important for anyone comparing new phones.

Certification records list the standard Galaxy S27 variants as supporting a direct‑current input of 9 V at 2.77 A, which equals about 25 W of charging power. That level first appeared with the Galaxy S20 in 2020, so the new model would not improve on a seven‑year‑old charging rate.

The Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra are reported to support fast charging of up to 60 W, according to leaked certification data. They also come with larger batteries—5,200 mAh for the Pro and 5,700 mAh for the Ultra—making them noticeably faster to refill than the standard model.

Google’s Pixel 11 and Apple’s iPhone 17 already provide charging speeds higher than 25 W, as noted in the original report. This puts Samsung’s standard S27 at a disadvantage for users who compare specs across brands.

Because premium smartphone buyers often value short charging times, retaining 25 W could become a significant drawback, according to the source. The gap may push some consumers to look at faster‑charging competitors or to choose the higher‑priced Pro or Ultra models.

In short, the unchanged 25 W charging may affect how quickly you can top up your phone each day and could influence whether the Galaxy S27 feels worth buying. If charging speed matters to you, it’s worth weighing these details before deciding.
