ACV, the developer of Long Thanh International Airport, reduced its workforce dramatically in the first nine months of 2026, cutting about 1,400 jobs. The move is part of a broader effort to control costs and meet governance goals.

ACV’s latest financial statements show that employee numbers fell from more than 10,800 at the beginning of the year to just over 7,110 by the end of September. This reduction marks the third consecutive quarter in which the workforce has shrunk, helping to lower overall expenses.

Payments to employees during the first nine months amounted to about VND2.63 trillion, roughly 13 % less than the same period a year earlier. The lower payroll outlay directly contributed to the company’s expense‑reduction strategy.

The workforce change followed a management restructuring announced in ACV’s April annual report. The company now operates with 12 departments under its board of directors and executive management, down from 17.

At the same time, construction costs for phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport rose 29 % to nearly VND44.13 trillion. Despite higher building costs, ACV reported a pre‑tax profit of nearly VND10.8 trillion for the period, a slight decline year‑over‑year but still above its full‑year target.
