Vietnam’s Strong Business Confidence Signals Opportunities for Investors and Policymakers

The EuroCham survey reported that 64 % of firms described current business conditions as good or very good, while 28 % said they were neutral or cautious. These responses show a generally optimistic mood among companies operating in Vietnam.
EuroCham’s sectoral analysis showed the agriculture and food value chain confidence rose to 83.9 points, the strongest improvement among sectors, whereas tourism and hospitality fell to 67.9 points, a drop of 22.5 points. The contrast highlights where opportunities and challenges differ across the economy.
Businesses focused on the Vietnamese market recorded a confidence score of 80.4, compared with 73.2 for EU‑focused firms, 70.7 for US‑focused firms, and 73.9 for ASEAN‑focused firms, according to the same survey. The variation indicates how target markets shape corporate optimism.
Vietnam’s gross domestic product grew 9.95 % year‑on‑year in Q3 and 9.01 % over the first nine months of 2026, EuroCham noted. In the same period, foreign direct investment reached US$50.36 billion, a five‑year high. Such strong macro‑performance reinforces why the high BCI matters to investors and policymakers seeking stable returns and reliable policy environments.
