AI‑Powered Telecom Networks: What They Mean for Everyday Life and Business in Vietnam
Telecommunications leaders say the industry’s success is no longer judged only by the number of people connected, but by the value AI‑powered networks deliver to users and businesses. Rita Mokbel, President and CEO of Ericsson Vietnam, added that AI is creating new demands for 5G infrastructure, which will support applications in smart manufacturing, logistics and healthcare.
Vasanth Pandiaraj, ASEAN AI Technology Strategist at Cisco Systems, explained that effective AI adoption needs more than clever algorithms. Companies also require high‑quality data, ample computing capacity and stable, high‑speed, secure connectivity, meaning network infrastructure and cybersecurity must be designed together from the start.
Jitendra Singh, Senior Director of Government Affairs and Spectrum Strategy for Asia‑Pacific at Qualcomm, noted that AI processing is moving from centralized cloud data centres toward the network edge and end‑user devices, so telecom networks must become more distributed. Ngo Dien Hy, Deputy CEO of VNPT, said VNPT now runs eight major data centres and has rolled out its AI ecosystem across all 34 provinces, embedding AI governance and security from the design stage.
For Vietnamese citizens and companies, AI‑enhanced telecom means faster, smarter services, new employment possibilities in AI‑driven sectors, and a stronger focus on data protection. The overall impact will be felt in everyday life, from health care to logistics, as the network becomes the backbone of AI applications.
