The Alberta government will look at its Amber Alert system after a Calgary boy died.

The review will check the rules for alerts and include police and community groups.

Minister Mike Ellis said the boy's death was very sad and they want to learn from it.

Parker Wells disappeared from a day home, and many people searched for him.

Police found the boy's body in an underground pipe system on July 29.

Amber Alerts are for abducted children, but the province made an exception for Parker.

The alert came two days after Parker was last seen.

Minister Ellis said they will listen to police and community groups to understand how alerts work.

Calgary police will also review how they handled the case.
