Singapore's MRT Network Has No Big Delays for 9 Months
This is the ninth month in a row with no such delays, the longest time since 2011.
The Land Transport Authority checks how far trains go before they are late.
In July, trains went 2,370,000 kilometers before being late, which is more than in June.
The authority says this is because workers are trying hard to make the trains run on time.
Changes made in February are also helping to make the trains more reliable.
All five old MRT lines did better or stayed the same in July.
The Circle Line trains went 2,450,000 kilometers before being late, which is better than in June.
The North East Line trains also did a little better, going 4,470,000 kilometers before being late.
The other lines did not change, with the North-South Line at 1,650,000 kilometers and the East-West Line at 2,020,000 kilometers.
The authority changed some numbers from June because of a delay on the North-South Line.
The North-South Line's numbers for June were changed to 1.65 million kilometers.
The authority can change numbers if they find out more about a delay.
The Thomson-East Coast Line's trains went 373,000 kilometers before being late, which is better than last month.
This line is still being built, so its numbers are not included with the other lines.
New lines can have problems that cause delays, but these are different from problems on old lines.
The authority also checks if trains run on time.
It does this by seeing how far trains actually go compared to how far they were supposed to go.
In July, 99.71% of trains ran on time, which is a little less than in June.
The authority also checks how often trains are late, which can cause problems for passengers.
If trains are not punctual, it can mean they do not come as often, making passengers wait longer.
In July, the MRT network's punctuality was 99.29%, which is less than in June.
The Circle Line's punctuality got better, going from 98.21% to 98.59%.
