New Ben Thanh–Can Gio Railway: Key Facts

VinSpeed High‑Speed Rail Investment and Development JSC said it will start construction on 30 October 2024. The work will include the railway line, tunnels, elevated sections, Ben Thanh and Can Gio stations, a depot, and a control centre.

The line will be about 54 km long, have double tracks with the standard 1,435‑mm gauge, and be fully electrified. An underground part of about 3.3 km runs from Ben Thanh Station to km 3+173; the rest will be on viaducts. The project should finish by December 2029.

The construction will be done by a consortium. The consortium includes SGC Investment and Construction JSC as the lead member, Vinhomes JSC, and CONINCO will supervise the work.
