Vietnam’s New Child Development Plan: What It Means for Your Health, School and Future Job
The plan aims for vaccination coverage for children under the expanded immunisation programme to exceed 95% by 2030, helping protect young people from preventable diseases. It also seeks to cut child violence and sexual abuse rates by at least 5% each year until 2030 and by 3% annually afterwards, while reducing child labour among ages 5‑17 to below 1.1% by 2030.
Preschool enrolment is set to reach 97% by 2030, ensuring almost every child starts school early. By 2035, 95% of students are expected to receive life‑skills and digital‑skills training, which the strategy says will help build a qualified future workforce.
The strategy also plans that by 2030, 85% of communes, wards and special zones will have facilities for children’s cultural, sporting and recreational activities. This aims to give young people more opportunities for play and talent development.
Overall, the strategy’s clear targets promise better health protection, wider learning opportunities and stronger job prospects for Vietnamese young people. As the goals are implemented, today’s students can expect a safer, more skilled environment that prepares them for the digital economy.
