The first phase is designed to handle 25 million passengers a year. When the whole project is finished, it can serve up to 100 million passengers annually.

Vietnam Airlines plans a Long Thanh‑Hanoi route and several international routes. Vietjet will add domestic services to major economic and tourism centers across the country.

The airport covers 5,000 hectares in Dong Nai, about 40 km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is Vietnam’s largest airport by area, and many international airlines have shown interest in flying there.
