Amelia Dimoldenberg announced this week that she will close her YouTube series Chicken Shop Date after 12 years.

She began the show 12 years ago by interviewing musicians from Britain’s underground rap scene. The format is simple: she meets a celebrity at a London fried‑chicken shop and asks flirty, funny questions. The channel now has close to 3.5 million subscribers and has featured guests such as Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, Jack Harlow, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Reynolds and Shania Twain.

In an Instagram post, Dimoldenberg wrote that the show feels like her own romantic comedy and that she is grateful to fans, but she also said, “I feel it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.”

She promised “a few final dates” before the series ends, and she is already signed to develop a young‑adult drama series for the BBC, according to Deadline.

The end of Chicken Shop Date shows that even very popular creators may stop a successful series to try new creative projects.
