Two Jewish Bakeries in Toronto Damaged, One Hit by Gunfire

Police found a bakery with a damaged window from gunshots near Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue W. They said this on social media. Police are investigating. They found a broken window at another location.

Another location of the same chain had a broken window, but it was not from gunfire. Police are looking into this.

Duty Insp. Scott Bradbury said police found evidence of a shooting at one location. There were no injuries at either place. The hate crime unit and gun task force are investigating.

Bradbury said the police understand this is concerning for the community, especially the Jewish community. They have all resources to investigate.

People can expect more police in the area during the investigation.

Bradbury said police are not sure if both incidents are connected, but both bakeries are part of the same chain.

He asked anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

He said it's alarming for residents to see police tape at the bakeries on a Sunday morning.
