They join Venus Williams and other Canadians like Bianca Andreescu in the main tournament.

The top player, Sabalenka, is in the 96-player list for the National Bank Open in Toronto.

Tennis Canada is happy to give Ariana and Carol special spots, saying Ariana is improving and Carol is a respected Canadian tennis player.
