According to sources told CBC Sports, the federal government will invest $76 million in a new national basketball facility. The hub will be located at Humber Polytechnic’s North Campus in Etobicoke, Ontario, and will serve as Canada Basketball’s home base.

The $76 million commitment joins other recent federal sport investments, such as $9.8 million for a Canada Soccer national facility and $33.6 million for Calgary’s Olympic oval, all drawn from the Build Communities Strong Fund.

By providing elite training spaces and thousands of community hours, the hub can raise the level of high‑performance basketball, make the sport more accessible locally, and signal the government’s long‑term priority for basketball development across Canada.
