Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide: Release Date and Details

Samsung will show its new phones at a Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, and a new foldable is expected to be announced.

The new foldable will be shorter and wider, similar to the upcoming iPhone Ultra.

Here's what we know about the wide Samsung foldable before its launch this month.

The new wide foldable might be called Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, but it's not a direct successor to the Z Fold 7 in terms of design.

Although Samsung hasn't officially announced the Z Fold 8, we have an idea of what to expect from recent leaks.

The phone has a 5.5-inch cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It also has a 7.6-inch inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.

It comes with 12GB of RAM.

The storage options are 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The phone has a 4,800mAh battery.

The display dimensions seem correct based on the dummy units, with a roughly 4:3 aspect ratio.

Android Authority found images of the phone in One UI 9 files, which confirms the design.

The other specs are not surprising, with normal RAM and storage counts for an expensive phone.

The phone should perform smoothly with the given specs, and the battery should last at least 24 hours.

Samsung seems to be making compromises, with only two rear cameras on the Z Fold 8.

The cameras are not the most powerful, with a 50MP wide and 50MP ultrawide lens, and two 10MP selfie cameras.

It's hard to say how much the phone will cost before its announcement, but it will likely be expensive.

Don't be surprised if the phone is out of your price range, even with its weaker cameras.
