The Tsinghua Engineer Driving Dreame’s Home‑Robot Revolution

Huo, the 29‑year‑old chief technology officer of Dreame’s embodied intelligence division, is leading the company’s effort to create AI‑powered robots for household work. Her story shows how a single engineer’s choices can influence the future of home automation.

Huo studied computer science at Tsinghua University and captained the Skyworks robotics team. She turned down offers from major technology companies to join the then‑small startup Dreame.

At Dreame, Huo first helped develop navigation technology that lets robotic vacuums move around homes safely. Today she oversees projects that aim to build robots capable of cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and, by 2027, handling multiple chores with two‑arm designs.

In the first half of 2026, Dreame was the world’s second‑largest robot‑vacuum brand, and together with its sister brand MOVA it held a combined 26.1% share of the global market. This strong position gives the company a solid base to expand into more complex home‑assistant robots.

Huo says home robotics is at an important turning point and expects widespread adoption in two to three years. Her long‑term goal is a single intelligent assistant that can manage many household tasks, freeing people from routine chores.
